Puri Tugu Belanda is located in the village of Temukus, Lovina, North Bali. The accomodation lies halfway a mountain with a magnificant view on the Balinese Sea, a part of the Indian Ocean. At bright weather you can see Java.

Lovina is a wanted yet still low key touristic part of Bali. Lovina is an abbreviation of "I love Indonesia". It is the area between the major towns of Singaraja and Seririt. Kalibukbuk, in between those towns at the coast, is the place to go out. It has a market, little bars with live music every day, and many restaurants. The shuttle bus of PTB, if available, will take you there in about 10 minutes, without charge.

For a morning walk: The Singsing waterfalls are at walking distance.

Day Trips for a fair price.

From PTB you can do several day trips. A airconditioned car will bring you all the way and back home.


1. The Lovina Tour.

Visit to Gitgit Waterfalls, Lake Bratan with the Ulun Danu Temple, the traditional village of Munduk, the Buddha Temple Wahra Brahma Arama, and the Hotsprings. Don't forget your swimming suit, for the best finishing touch of this day is a relaxing paddle.

2. Temple Tour.

Visits to several very ancient Hindu Temples, guids will tell you all about the history of them. High light is the magnicifant view on Lake Batur, and two volcanos.

3. City Tour

Visit to the Traditional 24hrs market in Singaraja ("The Lion King"), the Old Dutch Harbour, the Museum of the last King of the Province of Buleleng, the historic Library and the Chinese Temple.

Scuba Diving and Snorkeling.

Either of them: You won't find it better anywhere else. You may go to the terrific reef near Menjangan Island. For divers there is a sunken American warship waiting for you at the northeast coast. Visibility underwater is more than 30 meters a distance! Thousands of colourfull fish are welcoming you and if it is your lucky day you will see giant turtles surrounded by fantastic coral formations. Don't hesitate: Just do it.

There are daytrips for licenced divers, as well as courses for beginners and advanced divers. Masters as a guid will let you experience this fascinating underwater world. Don't forget to bring your underwater camera although they also are for rent at location. Equipment is available, even goggles of your strength. The reliable diving school will pick you up and brings you home safely.



Of course there are many more options for daytrips. Guided hikes in the jungle (half or whole day) in the west of Bali. For the early birds a morning trip to see the dolphins. You might even want to buy some pearls in one of the pearl farms.
